Food Bank
Souris & Area Harvest Food Bank we have had people inquiring on what is needed for donation to the food bank. There is donation bins set up at LT's, Co-op, & the Post Office. Items are canned soup, canned meat, cereal, oatmeal, kraft dinner, peanut butter, pasta & sauce, cookies, cake mixes, coffee, shampoo, kleenex, pudding, jello, pork 'n' beans, toilet paper. Just some ideas of the items that we provide in the hampers.

Art Club
Souris Art club is having classes again. We meet at the Baptist Church on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month. Classes usual run 1:30-3:30. The next 6 classes we will have instructors. The yearly membership is $20 per year plus $2 per class that you attend. Sometimes guest teachers will require an additional fee but not this year. We also offer a chance to join a class for $10, if you decide you want to try another class pay another $10 and you are a member. Please let Doreen Winona Logeot or myself know if you plan on attending so we have a seat ready for you. Attached is a copy of this year’s schedule.
Rink the River
The Rink the River committee is organizing its second annual event! This year we will be
fundraising for the outdoor classroom at Souris School. The committee will once again be
hosting a 3 on 3 shinny tournament on our very own Souris River on March 4th, 2023.
Our hope for this tournament is to not only raise funds for a great cause, but to get people out
of their house, get active and most importantly have fun. Like last year, the tournament has
potential to bring new faces to the community to enjoy our beautiful town and the businesses
within it. With continued support from the community, we plan to keep this a yearly event.

I have some news to share!
With Cliff Cullen's announcement that he will be retiring and not seeking re-election, I am excited to announce that I am seeking the Progressive Conservative nomination for Spruce Woods Constituency for the upcoming provincial election. The Party HQ has set the nomination voting date for Saturday, February 11th - location TBD.
I have deep roots in this constituency and I am passionate about the people who call it home. As many of you know, I am born and raised in Souris and received my university degree from Brandon University. I have always believed that this is the best place in the world to live. I am running because we need a community-minded MLA with the energy, passion and experience to get things done. After 3 years working at the provincial level and several years prior to that at the federal level, I bring that experience to the table. I have a strong work ethic, a fresh perspective and a focus on solutions.
In order to vote in this nomination, individuals must have purchased a PC Party Membership by January 27th. Over the coming days and weeks, I will be reaching out by calling and knocking on doors to sell memberships to the PC Party. We are looking for some volunteers to help out. Some of our people have been doing this for over 20 years and we are looking for some folks to help out even a little. You do not have to be a curler to help. Want to see it continue? Just come to the meeting and we will go from there.

We are now featuring needed items, and are packaging them up in $5 & $10 bags with added savings to make your dollars stretch further. Feel free to purchase a single item or the pre-made package. LT’s has a drop box for added convenience.
