Hillcrest Museum History
With all this beautiful frost this past week, it has inspired a few local photographers to take some Souris pictures. Many of these pictures were of the Swinging Bridge and Hillcrest Museum which sparked a lot of people talking about them this past week. So I thought I would share the pictures I took and some history of the Hillcrest Museum.
"The Museum, originally known as “Squire Hall”, was built in 1910. Commissioned by Fred Sowden, the son of Souris’ founder, Squire Sowden, it was designed by a local architect Carter Brindle. The building features an etched glass entrance, ornate wooden staircase, unique stained glass windows, pressed tin ceilings and original woodwork. Its balconies offer magnificent views of the Souris River."

Hey you wonderful people of Souris and surrounding area!
Im Kels, and I'm a stay at home mom who lives just outside of Brandon. I have my own crochet business and take custom orders a lot- I also create my own patterns for my Etsy shop!
This year I wanted to try something new and host a workshop for beginners! I'm wondering if there is any interest in the Souris community?!
The workshop would be hosted IN Souris , likely a weeknight for a couple of hours. ( at Lagasse's Studio of Fine Art !)
All ages welcome! Supplies would be provided for you and yours to keep at the end of the workshop. There will be a cover fee to enter the workshop.
This would be a beginner workshop for anyone who's never tried crocheting but wants to learn how and the basics. It'll be a fun laid back environment , great for conversation, relaxing and unwinding after a hard day.
I'm aiming to have this fun and maybe you'll pick up on a new hobby you love!
