Regular meetings take place during the afternoon, approx. 4 times a year for about an hour. It is not a huge time commitment to be a member-at-large, but it's an important support role on the board.

Happy Monday my friends! Anyone who knows me, knows I am not one one to toot my own horn BUT there's this election coming up in October and I wanted to put it out there that I am running for town council! The last time we had a full-on election in our area was 8 years ago and before that I can't recall 4 years ago there was an election for only the Municipality of Glenwood's councillors, Town council spots had two people run for three seats so there was no election for that or for the Mayoral seat. With the exception of 8 years ago, for the last 20+ years our Mayor has been decided because only one person stepped up and not because your voices have been heard. This year is exciting because we have several great folks running for council as well as two mayoral options! AND for the first time everyone in the Municipality of Souris & Glenwood can vote for all 6 council seats as well as the mayor I would like to encourage everyone to get out to the polling station (Community Hall) on October 26th and vote
My "selfish" reason for running is because I want to learn what it takes to run a community, not because I have a specific agenda or issue(s) I want resolved. I want to be someone that you can come to with issues and you'll feel heard at the very least. I have been on many boards and involved in many organizations in the 23 years we have lived in Souris and every time I learn new things. With this role however there is even more responsibility to represent all of you and I would like to be a voice for the wonderful folks of our community. Some might say that having experience in this specific role makes someone a better pick, I believe that having life experiences such as living and working and being involved in multiple communities, provinces, jobs and organizations gives someone the ability to be open-minded and have a broader perspective on issues that are current in our community.
In our small region we don't always get to choose who we want to represent us and be a voice for us so take advantage We have the opportunity, for the first time in a long time, to choose!! Lets vote in some fresh, open-minded, progressive new leaders who will listen to what the residents of Souris-Glenwood need and want and do our best to achieve that for you It is time for new leadership and fresh governance that represents the population of Souris-Glenwood and your wants, needs and mind-set. So PLEASE take the time to go VOTE
We will be closed on Friday, September 30th in honour of the National Day For Truth And Reconciliation.
PCH Courtyard
I am hoping to create a fall display at the PCH Courtyard again this year. The residents really enjoyed it last year. I am looking for donations of 4 straw bales, some pumpkins, squash, gourds, and corn for this display.

Breakfast Club
The first Breakfast Club of the season is coming up!
The Souris Minor Hockey Breakfast Club is a unique opportunity for youth in our community to participate in physical activity, learn new skills, and enjoy a healthy breakfast.
Each Wednesday morning, boys and girls of all ages are welcome to attend the hockey-based skills practice and receive a nutritious breakfast to start the day at no cost.
